Design has to satisfy a complex variety of sensual perception. A product has to look good (visual esthetics), has to fulfill positive haptic requirements (tactile esthetics) and depending on the nature of the product not to forget the rest of all human senses. Any object in the environment as well as the environment itself is transduced into the brain's language which is neural signals (action potentials and graded potential changes). Therefore, Cognitive Neurobiology investigating neural signals in the human brain as a reaction to any sensory stimulation is most appropriate to evaluate the effect of a particular design!
